📜 Campus Connect – Terms of Service

Welcome to Campus Connect! By accessing or using our platform, you agree to the following Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read carefully before using our website or app.

1. Eligibility

  • Service Providers must be verified university students with an active student account.
  • Community members can hire services through the platform.

2. Platform Role

Campus Connect is a marketplace platform that connects students ("Providers") with community members ("Users"). Campus Connect does not directly provide services and is not responsible for the quality, safety, or completion of services.

3. Payments & Fees

  • All payments are made upfront via e-transfer to Campus Connect.
  • Campus Connect acts as an escrow holder, releasing funds to the Provider only after proof of service is submitted and verified.
  • A 20% service fee is deducted from the Provider's earnings.
  • Transportation fees may apply if agreed between the User and Provider.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Users may cancel a booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled service for a full refund.
  • If a Provider fails to complete a service, Users may request a refund subject to review by Campus Connect.
  • Refunds will not be issued if the service was completed and proof was provided.

5. Responsibilities

  • Users must provide accurate information and ensure safe working conditions.
  • Providers must complete services honestly, submit proof, and comply with applicable laws.
  • Campus Connect is not liable for disputes between Users and Providers but may mediate at its discretion.

6. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for illegal services.
  • Misrepresent your identity or qualifications.
  • Attempt to circumvent Campus Connect's payment system.

7. Liability & Disclaimer

  • Campus Connect is not responsible for personal injury, property damage, or disputes arising from services.
  • The platform is provided "as is" without warranties.
Platform Clarification
  • CampusConnect is a connection platform, not the service provider. We facilitate connections between community members and student service providers.
  • Students are independent providers and are not employees, contractors, or agents of CampusConnect.
  • Service exclusions by category: Certain services are explicitly excluded from each category (e.g., medical care for elderly services, electrical work for handyman services). These exclusions are displayed when booking services.
  • Physical activity waivers: Services involving physical labor or activity require acknowledgment of associated risks.
  • Professional services: CampusConnect does not provide services requiring professional licenses (medical, legal, financial, etc.).

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province of Alberta.
